Food Foundry in Sekyen 17

Sedap lah. Went there after church with Alicia and Lynette. We had Fetucinne Vongole, Angel Hair Marinara, Green Curry Mussels, Garden Salad, and a Club Sandwich. All in no particular order for whom ate what lah...

They're also having young adults doing some really artsy fartsy stuff like poetry reading, and singing your own compositions, stand-up comedy etc.

Usually, if I don't like a particular eatery, I tend to bitch about it. But for this one, let's just say that I'll go back there again....

Fourplay Concert

Went to the Fourplay Concert on the 16/8. Got help with tix from Angela and Johann. Cheers!

What can I say lh..... FUAH!!!!
Excellent chemistry!!!!
Humility of each band member was key. They let the other band members get the limelight and in return, they shine more! Super tight playing!! If only I could falcetto scat like Nathan...

Band members:
Bob James (keyboards, piano)
Larry Carlton (guitars)
Harvey Mason (drums)
Nathan East (bass)

Stevie really enjoyed too. Hmmm... who else were there? Thomas, Jon Koo, Pastor Adam, Simon, a few more youth/yg adults.

It seems to me that the GTPJ worship team may have a new benchmark of technical excellence to hit! With His grace lah, of course.

The 2 pics are from the souvenir booklet. RM5 one! So thin.... But for Fourplay, worth it lah. The songs are more-or-less half old, half new (in my own chronological definition). Took the pics with my new Nokia N73. 3.2 megapixels. Good or not, we'll see lah....

Gonna use it to update my blog more often too. More pics to see. More HUMAN touch....

My Beloved Cell Group

Taken in Oct last year in Ancasa PD. Guess which is me...[snigger!]

change is constant!

So much has gone by....

Lynette, my youngest sis is now living with me, studying in Sunway College. CNY came and went with parents and sisters going to Hainan Island for holiday. Charlotte got a darn Dopod 838! Bulky or not?

God has been talking to me A LOT about fruitfulness and abiding in Him. The Bible talks heaps on the analogy of fruits. We've been called to be fruitful in ALL things that God has directed for us to do. Work, talents and skills..... and even family and relationships! What is God asking of me.... dunno lah. But I suppose, don't seek God merely for directions and His will but....SEEK GOD! All other things will be added unto you....

Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. The fruits will be produced at the branches but the nutrients come from the vine. Abiding in Jesus is my goal. What my hands can do for the Lord in the Worship Ministry can only be fruitful with me abiding in Him. What I do to be financially free can only be good for me and my family if I look to Jesus first. I suppose it's a responsibility that we bear as Christians. Totally different worldview altogether. Has it been tough to be a Christian? Most definitely! Don't have to think so much on who I'm accountable to. Has it been worthwhile with all the heartaches that come? I have tasted of the fruit of God's goodness..... and it is VERY GOOD! Is it scary to be a Jesus-loving person? Initially.... but not anymore. :)

Bass on!

what this bassist says...

As bass is the foundation for all things groove-related....so is Jesus
Christ
the foundation for all things LIFE-related.

I am His instrument, and it is His call on my life to encourage & help equip His body.

Oh...and in the process, perhaps to do my part to inspire all creation to Groove for Heaven...

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in
me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who
loved

me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20 NIV

are we on track?

life goes on and on. then again, death may also go on and on.
what's your decision?
every decision requires sub-decisions to support the action(s) of the decision.
have we penned or pencilled the objectives of each decision? starting from our thoughts and embracing them into our hearts?

have i DECIDED to look, touch, talk, aromatise, and taste my goals?
to what extent am i willing to go to feel?
to what extent am i willing to go NOT to feel?
what should i do to gain the knowledge, wisdom and understanding? [col 1:9]

discipline:
it is of motions and emotions.
motion: shall i move toward the greater good even when my emotions state otherwise?
emotions: shall i use it to feel or fuel my life as i work towards my identity?
if every single thing i do is interconnected as variables to my life, how must JESUS fit in as the absolute?
everything has a purpose!
everything has a foundation or joint or hinge; something to hold it together.
the smallest molecule also has absolutes that make it what it is.

is life all relative??

i don't think so......

have i DECIDED to look, touch, talk, aromatise, and taste JESUS?
to what extent am i willing to go to do that?

thank you LORD for calling me 'son'.....

So what does the bassist do in a band?

Lay down the bottom line of course!

The Christian Groove!

This is my first post as a servant of the Lord in the Worship Ministry and my role as a bassist in the church.

When a worship band plays, it attempts to usher in the presence of the Lord into the midst of the congregation. Each person that shares the pulpit with the pastor has a special blessing and anointing of the Lord. But along with that comes the additional spiritual responsibility.

I shan't go further into that at the moment. It's another topic for another time.

So what is the role of the bassist in the whole context of the body of Christ? I'd like to echo the words of Abe Laboriel when he said,

"The bass player builds the house that all other players get to live in."

So if the bassist is uncomfortable or messes up the timing or groove of the team [emphasis intentional], not only does everyone feel confused, the confusion becomes a distraction to the congregation and causes people to lose focus on their seeking the Lord to seeking out the cause of the 'noise'.

The bass instrumentalist is hence, a very humbling role indeed.

The Bassist makes people move. Grooving is God's inate gift to all of us. We all (believers or otherwise) have a heart that beats rather consistently. It fills the spaces and bridges gaps in a music band (Hmmm, what is the role of each band member?? I suppose we can discuss this another time too).

Jesus Loves YOU!!!
